Having grown up in an Armenian household in Kuwait, I was exposed to a unique combination of tastes, scents and environments. The days were dry, dusty and hot. A terracotta and sand-colored haze covered everything the eye could see. Dry and exotic spices embedded every dish on our dinner table. These spices were contrasted and made even more decadent with dripping sweet sugars all over our desserts.
