Celadon is inspired by a page from the 'Dream of the Red Chamber' by Cao Xuequin. The page describes a key moment from the book where a poetry club has formed by a group of women in the novel and the page is collection of all their input to a group poem, describing the crab blossom. Overloaded with descriptive feeling, the page speaks of a “Shower of rain’, ‘the purity of the snow’, the ‘sun’s rays and mossy pots’ and ‘the beauteous jade’. This world of waxy green grass and clear white purity informed the sparkling interpretation in Celadon by perfumer Karine Vinchon-Spehner.
